Cycled 125km today. To the city of UmeƄ.
Challenging, certainly not exhausted.
90% was gravel and lots of small climbs, which makes it less hard to be on the bike for 6.5 hours. There's gravel and then there's gravel. This was among the better gravel paths and the surroundings are beautiful too.
It did get late.
Saw the Baltic Sea for the first time.
It looked calm.
After all the issues that were already there with my bike, something else came up. Gear 11 wasn't shifting. Gear 4 can fully lock. I've made the decision, but I actually knew it for a long time: my 16-year-old bike is now truly done for. I hope it holds out a bit longer until Germany.
That's why I called Gerrit Gaastra. I know there are some Koga enthusiasts in this channel. Gerrit's father owns the Koga brand. Gerrit also has a bicycle brand: Idworx. They are, of course, not as good as Koga bikes but that is my first choice brand.
This changes the plan a little. The next goal is the German city of Bonn near the Idworx headquarters.
Now time for an oatmeal porridge. Have a nice evening.
